RENTING

LEASE/PURCHASE
If you are looking to buy a home but can't qualify for a loan because of bad credit or have insufficient funds for a down-payment, then a lease/purchase may be for you.   A lease/purchase is basically renting a property for a certain period of time, usually 1 year, and at the end of that time you have the option to purchase the property at a price usually negotiated at the beginning of the lease agreement. 

A lease/purchase has many advantages:

• Gives you time during the lease to save for the down-payment or repair bad credit
• Allows you to "try out" a home for a year before committing to a purchase
• Gives you more time to see trends in the housing market
